    Manzanilla Olives

    Manzanilla Olives

Medium sized, round, green Manzanilla olives have a good proportion of flesh to stone and have a mild, gently bitter flavour. The light brine allows their characteristics to come through. Their size, colour and proportion of flesh to stone are the reason that the quintessentially Spanish Manzanilla olive is the most widely eaten table olive in Spain and fantastic with a martini.

This round, green table olive tastes at its best on the stone.

    What does Manzanilla mean?

Manzanilla translates as “little apple” because of its small, round green appearance. This typical Spanish table olive originated in the province of Seville in Andalusia. The variety is used to produce both olive oils and table olives, though they are have to be picked at different stages of ripeness.
